There’s a new sound on the Sunray Estate this week — the steady rhythm of shovels, drilling and cutting. After years of puddles, splashes, and patient waiting, the long-troubled gullies at the base of Vincent Avenue are getting the repair they deserve.

First reported back in 2020, what began as a small drainage glitch soon became a local legend. On rainy nights, the corner of Vincent Avenue and Barnsbury Lane turned into a mini lagoon, soaking heels and tyres alike. Residents watched, reported, and waited — and at last, the wait is over.
